Do I Need a Wifi Package on Carnival Cruise Lines?

If you're wondering whether you need a WiFi package on Carnival Cruise Lines, the answer is yes, if you want to stay connected to the outside world. In this blog, we will break down each of the WiFi packages that Carnival Cruise Lines has to offer, including what they include and their starting prices. This will help you make an informed decision on which package is right for you.

The Carnival Hub App

Before we dive into the WiFi packages, let's talk about the Carnival Hub app. This app works on the ship's WiFi, which is included for all passengers. The app serves as a navigation system during your cruise, keeping you informed about what's happening on the ship. It also includes a chat feature that you can purchase for $5 per person for the entire week. This allows you to communicate with others in your party. However, the app does not offer any other features that require WiFi.

WiFi Packages

Now let's get into the WiFi packages that you need to pay for to stay connected to the outside world. The first plan is called the Social WiFi Plan, which costs $15.30 per person per day. This package gives you access to popular social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, and Snapchat. It also includes access to airline sites. It's important to note that you should always book your WiFi plans in advance to receive a 15% discount. Booking must be done before 11:59 PM the day before embarkation day.

The next plan is the Value Plan, which starts at $19.55 per person per day. This plan allows you to browse websites, including email. However, it does not support Skype calling or streaming services like YouTube, Spotify, or Netflix. You can still download content from these sites and view them offline.

The Premium WiFi Plan is the most comprehensive plan, costing $21.25 per person per day. It includes access to emails, video calls, Skype, Zoom, and other streaming services. It is three times faster than the Value Plan.

There is also a newly added plan called the Multi-Device Premium WiFi Plan. This plan allows up to four devices to be connected to one WiFi plan. It costs $75 per day and includes all the features of the Premium WiFi Plan. This is a great option for families or groups traveling together.
